The Bike Factory is a modern retail environment with it's roots in Chester that go back almost 100 years. Originally the shop was Marstons in Bridge Street.
In 1937, Marstons received a silver plaque for 25 years of unbroken service with Raleigh Industries Limited.
In the 60's the name was changed to Davies Brothers and moved to Cuppin Street. The business grew from strength to strength providing specialist bikes to everyone, from competitive racers to club riders. In the early 90's Davies Brothers was passed onto the next generation and the decision was made the trade under the name of The Bike Factory.
The Bike Factory celebrated it's 100th birthday in 2012, the Olympic year saw Great Britain top the cycling medal table.
The staff at The Bike Factory are all passionate about bikes and many are, or have been, competitive cyclists themselves. Each staff member understands the specific needs of the rider and are absolutely uncompromising about customer service and about providing a good retail experience. Over the years everyone at The Bike Factory has helped to create a helpful environment for all our customers, whether they be life long enthusiasts or complete novices.
The Bike Factory has a growing loyal customer base consisting of riders from all disciplines. Each team member is on hand to offer expertise on everything from BMX bikes to full suspension mountain bikes.
Each bike sold at The Bike Factory is assembled and thoroughly checked over by Cytech qualified mechanics, prior to the customer taking delivery. The Service Department at The Bike Factory is one of the best in the country and has recently been awarded a certificate by the ACT to congratulate the team on the quality of the workshop. The Bike Factory currently holds a position in the top 5 Cytech Directory of over 500 bike shops, this ranks shops based on their investment in Cytech training.
The Bike Factory are official stockists for a huge range of bike brands and accessories. Ranges include Specialized, Trek, Raleigh, Dawes, Pinarello, Brompton and Diamond Back. In the showroom the Bike Factory offers a huge selection of city bikes, mountain bikes, road bikes and bikes for children. The Bike Factory also stock a range of service parts, accessories and clothing including ASSOS, Bontrager, Brooks, Campagnolo, Nalini, Park Tools, Sealskinz, Specialized, Shimano and Giro to name a few.
The Bike Factory is the current sponsor of Birkenhead North Cycling Club and are heavily involved with local Triathlons and other events during the year.
