Specialized at the Bike Factory

Specialized, our friends from across the pond in sunny California, have been creating great bikes since way back in 1974. While our parents (OK, and some of us too) were getting our boogie on to ABBA, these dudes were starting out on their journey, doing what they’ve been doing ever since – innovating and inspiring people to ride. From hardtails to full-suss downhill rigs, a Specialized mountain bike is guaranteed to be bursting with the very latest tech and infused with a unique DNA that Spesh riders know and love.

A true race whippet

Specialized have just released their latest race-ready weapon, the 2020 Epic HT, an unbelievably lightweight hardtail whip that is likely to be topping a lot of World Cup podiums in the coming months. Those clever surfer dudes out west have refined every inch of the bike to create the world’s lightest, fastest and most forgiving race machine. The lightest production hardtail on earth is also the most capable and comfortable racing machine ever created.

The unbelievably light carbon frame has been created using narrower tube shapes, which as well as minimising weight improves compliance, comfort and handling. At a smidge over 900 grams, the new Epic Fact 11m carbon frame is the ridiculously light beating heart of the Hardtail, Hardtail Comp and Hardtail Expert models.

We currently have the Hardtail Comp in store, and you just gotta see it. With deft handling, a planted front end and unsurpassed comfort, if you’re looking for the weapon to rule the roost, you just found it.

Full suss fun

For those of us that need a little more cush beneath our tush, Specialized full suspension MTBs are among the most advanced out there. The 2020 Epic FSR is truly the fastest XC bike on the planet, proven by its numerous World Championship and Olympic medals – more than any other bike in fact.

Modern XC courses are evolving all the time and the S-Works Epic AXS has been developed to be stable at speed, to slay corners and switchbacks, and to accelerate away from the pack when the hammer drops. Specialized even managed to drop a frankly huge 350 grams from the bike’s weight, spending hours tweaking the geometry and frame layup.

As usual, no expense has been spared in making the S-Works the ultimate bike: RockShox SID World Cup fork, SRAM's wireless XX1 Eagle AXS electronic drivetrain, powerful SRAM Level Ultimate brakes and handbuilt featherweight Roval Control SL wheels.

Dropping…!

Specialized make all kinds of bikes, and one of the most popular on these shores is the Stumpjumper. It has never really fit the mould of a normal trail bike or restricted itself to a specific type of off-road riding. It’s a jack of all trades, a monster on the dirt and a machine that’s ready to take your mountain biking to the next level.

The Stumpjumper is renowned for its versatility, able to crush just about any trail you can throw it down. Built to navigate tough and technical trails, it’s a fast and planted bike that zips across rough ground with an unparalleled level of assured confidence.

Specialized give all their bikes their ‘Rider-First Engineered’ treatment. This means every frame size is optimised for performance, with no variation relating to different dimensions; smaller frames are no stiffer or more responsive than their larger counterparts.
